Bear Grylls is a seasoned adventurer who served with the Special Air Service, a special forces unit of the British army, where he was trained in all manner of survival. His experiences include climbing Mount Everest, crossing the freezing North Atlantic Ocean in a small, open boat and climbing a Himalayan peak described by Sir Edmund Hillary as "unclimbable". He has been places and done things that would defeat most normal people.
In the new season of Man vs. Wild, Bear continues his passion for pushing himself, and Mother Nature, to the limit. Like a kid on a playground where 100-foot waterfalls become waterslides and jungle trees are jungle gyms, Bear plunges into the world’s deadliest terrain, including Patagonia, the Sahara and Panama. And there’s no telling what he’ll get into once he’s there.
